Abstract

Background: Chitosan chicken shank collagen scaffold shows that compressive strength is not high enough for bone application, thus the cross-link method is expected to improve the mechanic purpose of chitosan chicken shank collagen scaffold. Purpose: This research is aimed to know about the increase of the value of compressive strength chitosan chicken shank collagen scaffold with comparison 1:1 (w:w) after being cross-linked with gluteraldehyde in 0.25%, 0.5% and 0.75% concentration. Method: Scaffold synthesized from chitosan and chicken shank collagen cross-linked with four different concentration, that are 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and control, and tested in compressive strength. Data is analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov after that analyzed by Mann-Whitney. Result: Compressive strength value of chitosan chicken shank collagen scaffold has been cross-linked with 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and control are respectively 97.57, 43.2029, 43.2029, and 37.6286 kPa. Conclusion: Compressive strength value of chitosan chicken shank collagen scaffold which has been cross-linked with gluteraldehyde by 0,25% is the  highest value.

Abstrak

Latar belakang: Scaffold  kitosan kolagen cakar ayam menunjukkan compressive strength yang tidak cukup tinggi untuk aplikasi pada tulang, sehingga metode cross-link dengan gluteraldehid diharapkan mampu meningkatkan sifat mekanik scaffold kitosan kolagen cakar ayam. Tujuan: Mengetahui peningkatan nilai compressive strength scaffold kitosan kolagen cakar ayam perbandingan 1:1 (w/w) setelah dilakukan cross-link dengan gluteraldehid konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5% dan 0,75%.  Metode: Scaffold kitosan kolagen cakar ayam dilakukan cross-link dengan gluteraldehid konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75% dan diuji compressive strength dengan autograph. Data dianalisis dengan Kruskal-Wallis dilanjutkan Mann-Whitey. Hasil: Nilai Compressive strength scaffold kitosan kolagen cakar ayam setelah dilakukan cross-link dengan gluteraldehid konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75% dan kontrol sebesar 97,57, 43,2029, 43,2029, dan 37,6286 kPa. Simpulan: Nilai compressive strength scaffold kitosan kolagen cakar ayam setelah dilakukan cross-link dengan gluteraldehid dengan konsentrasi 0,25% menghasilkan nilai paling tinggi.
