Disinfection alginate impression with liquid Aloe barbadensis Mill. use spraying technique to the dimensional stability of alginate impression

Abstract

Alginate impression material is used to impress the  patient's teeth. Alginate impresssion can caused cross infection between patients and operator. Cross infection can be prevented by disinfecting alginate impressions using liquid Aloe barbadensis Mill. Disinfection alginate impression with immersion technique make an imbibition of alginate impression larger than spraying technique, which caused stabilty dimensional change from alginate impression. Disinfection alginate impression with immersion or spraying technique with chemicals is not to be more than 10 minutes. Purpose: Knowing the long exposure with spraying liquid Aloe barbadensis Mill. which does not cause change the dimensional stability of alginate impression. Methods: Acrylic self cured was made for 10 individual trays. Alginate dough was impressed on the master model form jaw’s analog of 4 analog teeth with cylinder. Alginat impression was treated by spraying liquid of Aloe barbadensis Mill., for control sample spraying aquades steryl with long exposure of 5, 10 and 15 minutes. Alginate impression was filled with gypsum dough, the diameter of cylinder on gypsum models measured using digital calipers 0.01 mm. The results were analyzed with one-way Anova test and Tukey HSD test. Result: There were a significants difference on the cylinder diameters of gypsum cast after dinsinfected by spraying liquid Aloe barbadensis Mill. that compared with spraying with aquades steryl 5, 10 and 15 minutes and without treatment. Conclusion: Disinfection liquid of Aloe barbadensis Mill. by spraying technique at 5 minutes did not make  a change of dimensional alginate impression

Abstrak

Material cetak alginat digunakan untuk mencetak gigi pasien. Cetakan alginat dapat menyebabkan infeksi silang antara pasien dengan operator. Infeksi silang dapat dicegah dengan disinfeksi pada cetakan alginat menggunakan cairan Aloe barbadensis Mill. Disinfeksi cetakan alginat dengan teknik perendaman menyebabkan imbibisi lebih besar dibandingkan dengan teknik penyemrotan, yang dapat mempengaruhi stabilitas dimensional cetakan alginat. Disinfeksi dengan teknik penyemprotan pada cetakan alginat menggunakan bahan kimia tidak lebih dari 10 menit. Tujuan: Mengetahui lama pemaparan penyemprotan cairan Aloe barbadensis Mill. yang tidak menyebabkan perubahan stabilitas dimensional cetakan alginat. Metode: Sendok cetak individual dibuat dari akrilik self cured sebanyak 10 buah. Adonan alginat dicetakkan pada model master bentuk analog rahang yang terdapat 4 analog gigi berbentuk silinder. Cetakan alginat disemprot cairan Aloe barbadensis Mill., sebagai kontrol disemprot akuades steril, dengan lama paparan masing-masing 5, 10 dan 15 menit, serta cetakan alginat tanpa diberi perlakuan. Cetakan alginat diisi adonan gipsum, diameter silinder pada model gipsum diukur menggunakan kaliper digital dengan ketelitian 0,01 mm. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan one way Anova test serta Tukey HSD test. Hasil: Hasil one way Anova test menunjukkan ada perbedaan signifikan diameter silinder model gipsum dengan penyemprotan cairan Aloe barbadensis Mill. dibandingkan penyemprotan akuades steril dengan lama paparan 5, 10 dan 15 menit, serta tanpa perlakuan. Simpulan: Disinfeksi cairan Aloe barbadensis Mill. menggunakan teknik penyemprotan dengan lama paparan 5 menit tidak menyebabkan perubahan dimensional cetakan alginat
